Everything you need to know about plans, privacy, medications, appointments, and caregiver access — in plain language.
Personal Health Inspector is an application that helps you organize personal health information — medications, appointments, preventive-care tasks, documents, and reminders — in one place, for yourself and the people you look after.
No. Personal Health Inspector is not a doctor's office, clinic, pharmacy, or healthcare provider. It's an organizational tool. Always talk to a licensed healthcare professional about medical decisions.
No. The app does not diagnose, treat, or prevent any disease or condition, and nothing in the app — including the Health Inspector Assistant — should be treated as medical advice. It only helps you organize and keep track of information you already have.
Yes. You can record medications, doses, and schedules, and set refill reminders so you know when a prescription is running low. The Basic plan supports a limited number of active medications; Plus and Family plans support unlimited medications.
Yes. You can add appointments with providers, locations, and notes, and (on Plus and Family) set up recurring appointments and save prep notes or questions ahead of a visit.
Yes. Personal Health Inspector can send reminders for upcoming appointments, medication refills, and preventive-care tasks by email, and by SMS if you've added a phone number and enabled text notifications.
Yes. Basic includes limited document storage; Plus and Family include a private document vault for insurance cards, records, and results, with much higher (or unlimited, on Family) storage.
Yes, on the Family & Caregiver plan. You can invite someone by email and choose exactly what they can see — full access, or a specific area like appointments, medications, or emergency information only. Caregiver access is always read-only, and you can revoke it instantly.
Plus and Family are billed monthly or annually through Stripe, our payment processor — we never see or store your card number. You can upgrade, downgrade, or cancel anytime from Settings → Billing, and manage your payment method through Stripe's secure Customer Portal.
Your data is stored in an account only you (and anyone you explicitly invite as a caregiver) can access, protected by authentication on every request. See our Privacy Policy and Security page for full detail on what's collected, how it's protected, and your rights.
Yes. The Basic plan is free with no credit card required, and covers a limited number of medications, appointments, and documents. You can upgrade to Plus or Family whenever you need more.
Basic is free and covers the essentials for one person. Plus unlocks unlimited medications and appointments, the Health Inspector Assistant, and advanced reports. Family & Caregiver adds support for multiple family members, caregiver invitations with permission-based access, and a shared family calendar. See the Pricing page for a full feature comparison.
Yes, anytime, from Settings → Billing. You can cancel immediately or let your plan continue until the end of the current billing period — your choice.
Cancelling a paid plan moves your account to the free Basic plan — your data stays intact, you just return to Basic's limits. Deleting your account entirely removes your access and anonymizes your record; see our Privacy Policy for exactly what's retained and why.
Yes. From Settings → Privacy, you can export your account's data. This is available to every plan, not just paid ones.
Use the Contact page to send us a message, and we'll get back to you by email. See our Support & Notification Expectations section below for realistic response-time expectations.
Support & notification expectations
A clear picture of how reminders and support actually work, so there are no surprises.
Email reminders
Appointment, medication, and preventive-care reminders are sent to the email address on your account when they come due, based on the lead time you set.
SMS reminders
If you add a phone number and turn on text notifications in Settings, you'll also receive reminders by SMS. SMS is optional and off by default.
Support response time
Messages sent through our Contact page are reviewed by our team and answered by email. We aim to respond within 1–2 business days, though actual response times can vary.
If a notification doesn't arrive
Delivery can occasionally fail or be delayed — a provider outage, a full inbox, or a carrier issue with SMS. Every reminder sent (or attempted) is recorded in your notification history, so you can check what actually went out.
Important: Personal Health Inspector is an organizational tool, not a monitoring or emergency service. Do not rely on it for urgent medical matters. If you are experiencing a medical emergency, call your local emergency number immediately.
